When we came to Newberry and we began construction on our new $3.5 million complex I wanted to make certain that everything was done first class. I gave them some ideas of how I wanted our new batting cages to work which would incorporate bullpen mounds and the ability to retract nets to allow live hitting in a large area. I had diagrams and a response in one day. This cage system will elevate our practices as well as our facility when it is completed. With the Burbanks help, we changed an unsightly chain-link backstop into a fan-friendly net backstop without having to do a major reconstruction and addition to the field.
